How to remove an image background in your browser
Background removal creates an alpha mask that separates a foreground subject from the surrounding scene. DocPixel runs the portrait model in the browser, so the selected image does not need to be uploaded to DocPixel.
Choose a suitable photo
Use a well-lit portrait with clear separation between the person and background. Fine hair, motion blur and similar foreground and background colors are the most difficult areas.
Keep transparency
Download the result as PNG. JPG does not support transparent pixels and will replace them with a solid background.
Improve edges
Start with a low threshold and moderate feathering. Raising the threshold too much can remove hair, fingers or clothing. A small feather value can soften hard edges.
Privacy and first-use download
The first use downloads model and runtime files. After that, the browser can reuse cached files. Image processing itself occurs on the device.
