How to use it well

About this resize PDF pages

Settings, real-world decisions, release checks and limitations.

The PDF page resizer changes the physical page canvas to A4, A3, Letter, Legal or custom dimensions. Original page content is fitted inside the new page without altering the source file on your device.

Page size is not the same as file size. Enlarging the page canvas does not create more document detail, and changing page dimensions may only slightly affect the number of bytes unless images are also recompressed.

Choose settings by outcome

Setting or choiceChoose it whenTrade-off
A4Many international forms and office documentsLetter originals may gain margins or scale
LetterUS and Canadian office workflowsA4 originals are slightly taller and narrower
Legal / A3Specific receiving or print requirementsLarger pages can be inconvenient for normal viewing
CustomA documented width and height requirementIncorrect units or dimensions can create unexpected output

Recommended workflow

  1. 1

Confirm whether the requirement concerns paper dimensions or file size.

  2. 2

Choose the target page and orientation; use Auto when mixed content should remain natural.

  3. 3

Add enough margin to avoid clipping near edges.

  4. 4

Print-preview or open the result and check every page boundary.

Common uses

  • Convert mixed pages to consistent A4 size
  • Fit a Letter document onto A4 paper
  • Add margins around scanned pages
  • Create a custom page size in millimetres

Important limitations

  • Page resizing does not automatically reduce PDF file size
  • Very different aspect ratios can create white margins
  • Interactive forms and advanced PDF features may not be preserved

Troubleshooting

The file size did not decrease

Page resizing changes the canvas, not necessarily the embedded data.

Content looks too small

Reduce the margin or choose a page closer to the original proportions.

Edges are clipped

Increase margin and use fitting rather than filling.

PDF Page Resizer FAQ

Does resizing a PDF compress it?

Not necessarily. Paper size and storage size are different properties.

Can it make every page A4?

Yes. Each page is fitted to the selected target.

What unit is used for custom size?

The interface accepts millimetres and converts them internally.

Will text remain selectable?

This operation places original pages onto new pages, so text may remain selectable depending on the source structure.

Which orientation should I choose?

Use the orientation required by the recipient or Auto when the content varies.
